It is with deep sadness that we share the news of passing of Dr. Susan Kirkland, one of the three founding Principal Investigators of the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging.
Susan played an instrumental role in shaping the CLSA. Her scientific vision, wisdom, and unwavering dedication helped build what has become one of Canada’s most important research platforms, advancing our understanding of aging.
While Susan’s contributions to science were extraordinary, we remember even more the person behind the accomplishments. She brought warmth, kindness, generosity, and humour to every interaction. She was a gifted mentor, a trusted colleague, and a cherished friend whose encouragement and support touched countless individuals throughout her career.
Susan’s legacy lives on not only through the CLSA and the scientific knowledge she helped create, but also through the many people she inspired, guided, and uplifted. She will be deeply missed and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and working with her.
We have included here a link to her obituary.
