The Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA) is pleased to announce the launch of the Dr. Susan Kirkland Early Career Researcher Data Access Award, designed to support emerging scholars working to advance knowledge on aging in Canada.
Honouring the remarkable contributions of Dr. Susan Kirkland, CLSA Principal Investigator Emerita, this award provides a one-time waiver of the CLSA data access fee for an early-career researcher.
Dr. Kirkland’s leadership and work in the study of chronic disease, health equity and social determinants of health have fundamentally shaped the CLSA research platform and the broader scope of aging research in Canada. This opportunity supports research that reflects Dr. Kirkland’s contributions, including work in the following areas:
- Healthy aging
- Women’s health
- Chronic disease prevention and management
- Health equity and social determinants of health
“It has been one of the great honours of my career to help build the CLSA alongside colleagues who share a deep commitment to improving and understanding the health and well‑being of Canadians as they age. I am humbled that this award will support early career researchers who bring fresh perspectives and new energy to the field. Their work will shape the future of aging research in Canada, and I am grateful to contribute in some small way to their journeys.”
Dr. Susan Kirkland
