Project Summary

Trajectories of cognitive decline and patterns of health care utilization and costs. There are growing concerns about healthcare utilization of an aging population and in particular healthcare utilization related to cognitive decline and dementia. The CLSA data alone provides some important data on self-reported healthcare utilization. The linkage of the CLSA data to CIHI data on healthcare utilization will provide more detailed data on use of a range of specific services in different care settings that can help clarify how different trajectories are associated with use of specific services and their cost.
