Project Summary
This project explores the health of older immigrants and Canadian-born older adults in Canada, focusing on physical health, mental health, and social well-being. It aims to identify differences between these groups and examine how age, gender identity, income, marital status, race/ethnicity, education, language, culture, urban/rural classification, sexual orientation, and time since immigration influence health outcomes. Using data from the CLSA, the study will assess physical, mental, and social well-being. Statistical analyses will investigate how immigration status and sociodemographic factors contribute to health disparities. The findings will highlight the challenges faced by older immigrants and inform interventions and policies to improve health equity, ensuring all older adults in Canada can access the support they need for healthier lives.
