Analyzing the interplay between financial well-being and health trajectories of Canadian older adults

Project Summary

This study aims to contribute to our understanding of how different facets of financial wellbeing interact to shape the health of Canadians. This project will use CLSA data to identify different profiles of financial wellbeing in older Canadians; assess how these profiles vary by place of residence and individual characteristics as well as over time; and determine if these different profiles are associated with changes in health conditions and behaviors. Interviews with older adults will also be conducted to contextualize CLSA findings. By identifying how financial wellbeing impacts successful and healthy aging, this study will inform the development and prioritization of strategies to support wellbeing of older Canadians.
