Public Event: CLSA Healthy Aging Seminar, Hamilton ON

On April 9th, 2018, the CLSA Data Collection Site at McMaster University hosted a Healthy Aging Seminar for CLSA participants at McMaster Innovation Park in Hamilton, Ontario. CLSA researchers Dr. Stuart Phillips, Dr. Mylinh Duong, Dr. Brenda Vrkljan, and Dr. Cynthia Balion presented preliminary findings on the following projects using CLSA data:

  • Maintaining Physical Mobility for Older Canadians: A Key to Successful Aging, presented by Dr. Stuart Phillips, Director, McMaster Centre for Nutrition, Exercise & Health
  • The Importance of Lung Function in Predicting Mortality and Disability, presented by Dr. Mylinh Duong, Assistant Professor, Cardiorepository Lab, McMaster University Faculty of Health Sciences
  • Aging and Driving in Canada: Challenge meets Opportunity, presented by Dr. Brenda Vrkljan, Lead Investigator, McMaster-Candrive team and Co-Investigator, CLSA
  • CLSA Biospecimens and Biomarkers, presented by Dr. Cynthia Balion, Director, CLSA Biorepository and Bioanalysis Centre (BBC)

The event was moderated by the CLSA Hamilton Local Site Principal Investigator Dr. Lauren Griffith, and was live streamed on the CLSA Facebook and YouTube channels. The video is available for viewing below.
